When I'm with my human family I'm happy and content. I play with my big brother the most. He's a one year old Rott and his name is Token. Penny is my big sister, she's a 6 year old Pug and not very active, so I keep my distance when she's tired. I love to play and run and just have a good time!
I love to play with my bones and my ropes, especially when my big brother Token is around.
I make my family laugh when I get so excited when my mom and dad get home that I run in the house and slide all over the floor and bite the dust!
My favorite game with my canine friends is Token, my big brother. I love him so much that I always want to be by his side. He takes care of me and he's my best friend. We play, eat, and sleep together. Sometimes I like to bark, but he's not a barker, he's very quiet. We play well together.
I like to spend time with my family. I am a pretty calm boy, I dont chew on anything thats not one of my toys and I understand what is right or wrong for the most part. I stick next to my big brother (Token's) side most of the time and love to take naps in the computer room (only part of the house with carpet).
I live with kids that are 11 years old. I've met kids as young as 5, 2, and 1 years old. I love kids of all ages, I just want to give them all kisses. Sometimes I jump when I get really excited, and that can scare the little babies sometimes.
Other types of animals I've met include a Parrot and when I interact with them I just sit and stare at him. He's an odd looking fellow that makes loud noises. I really have no desire to get close to him, but he's nice to look at sometimes. There's a few lizards outside that I like to chase, but they are way too quick for me!
In case youre wondering, I do ask to go out when I gotta go., I do very well in a crate.
People tell me that Im more adoptable if I know things. Here are the commands that Ive already learned - Sit, Down, Shake, Stay, but I need lots of treats to hold my attention.
My foster family knows me pretty well and they think the perfect family for me would be one that has another animal to keep me company when they are at work. I do better with a companion, but I would do great with a lot of people or a little. Children are great, and so are other types of animals. I'm not a picky guy at all, and I'm pretty easy to manage.
Geez - I almost forgot to tell you that I love food so much that I have to eat seperated from my big brother (Token) and sister (Penny). I am not food agressive, but I do try to eat their food. I think its best that I eat alone, otherwise I'll get a little chuncky and thats not sexy at all too the ladies!

Note about puppies: Many people want to adopt pit bull puppies because they feel that, by adopting them younger, there is less chance that they will be aggressive as they get older. While human aggression is not a predisposed standard trait of this breed, a very real likelihood of maturing into canine aggression does exist. Good socialization will certainly help with the aggression that any unsocialized breed might have as they get older. This aggression can be bourne from the fear of the unknown and socialization early and often is the best solution to this. Unfortunately, there is also a component of some pit bulls that is a genetic canine aggression (aggression towards other dogs). This cannot be socialized out and generally does not manifest itself until they reach maturity, which can be anywhere from 6 months to 2 years of age. If you are adopting a puppy to include into a multi-dog family, be aware that, through no fault of his own, this puppy can mature into a dog that might be unpredictable with the other dogs in your family and out in the world. This is not a certainty by any means but something that a responsible pit bull owner should know and be aware of.
Please note that Pit Bull Rescue San Diego does not adopt on a first come first served basis. Generally we have formed an opinion about the sort of home that we want for each of the dogs in our program. This opinion is formed from knowing each dog and observing their interactions in various situations and through periodic evaluations. Our goal is to place our charges in the home that is the best possible for that particular dog. Our only goal is happiness and forever homes for our dogs. A forever home is most likely to happen when we do the best we can to find lifestyles and personalities that match.
We are aware that this is a human process and that you may or may not agree with our decisions. Please understand that we take very seriously the lives placed in our hands for this brief time and our decisions are only made out of protectiveness for the breed and the specific dogs we are placing and not out of any judgment of you or your life.
