our medical cases
The ASPCA was called to a house (yard) to investigate four dogs in the yard, two tied up on chains. The officer posted a notice on the house for improvements needed for the care of the dogs, and a note saying they would be back. When they returned to check on the welfare of the dogs, a neighbor told the officer that the owners had returned and moved out in the middle of the night, opened up the gate to the yard, and let all four dogs "free". Tomka unfortunately met up with a car, and he did not win….he had his front right foot completely smashed. At the Department of Animal Services all who met him had good things to say. He was easy to handle and treat, even when he first came in without pain meds, he let them look and start treating, not bothered by other dogs or cats in medical, and was a nice, soft and social guy.
Since this photo, has had his leg amputated as the damage was too severe to fix. He is a sweet and loving guy despite enormous odds and we are very hopeful for his recovery and a wonderful home in the future for him.
